The word “Spirituality” has different meanings for different people. Most folks might not stop to give the word much thought. Spirituality might conjure up different images of people in deep meditation or worship. We might imagine a contemplative monk deep in prayer or a church’s congregation praising their higher power. Before I gave much thought to spirituality, I remember meeting people who would say they considered themselves to be “into spirituality,” but I wondered what they really meant by that. Do they light candles and recite mantras? Do they make contact with spirits or a parallel universe? Are they on some secret path of enlightenment? Whatever it was, it seemed tedious, elusive, and beyond my mortal comprehension. I consider myself to be somewhat of a regular guy, and so back then I just figured it was either not my bag or over my head. Then, quite by accident, some insights gave me a glimpse into what it might be, which led me to a road with many revelations. (One stop along that road was my book, Cultural Vision, but the road does not end there!) Previously I had assumed that the great religions of the world probably had a corner on the market of all things spiritual. However, what I have learned is that religion and spiritual experience may be two entirely different concepts. I learned that our cultural perception of spirits, as if they are a disembodied external life force, is contrary to true spiritual meaning and experience. Spirituality is not an intangible concept based upon otherworldly beings or non-human gods in some alien realm called heaven (or hell), but rather an entirely tangible outlook rooted in Earthly Reality, if you are lucky enough to break through our cultural barriers. NEXT PAGE: OUTLINE I would like to hear your thoughts and reflections about the material in this site. Please write to me at: author@culturalvision.net Enjoy Your Evolution,
